How much time do you spend outside with your babies and toddlers? Is it important? How old should they be before you spend time with them outside? These are good questions and we think important one. Being outside can be very helpful to our babies developing systems. Think about all the differences they can experiences out of doors. Lighting is different, smells, temperatures are different. The sounds we hear outside are different too, and depending WHERE outside they can be really different. Are you going outside in the country or in a city? Birds VS Sirens, cars VS cows, wind VS stillness. How about smells? Wow lots to smell outside. These experiences are valuable to the developing child. Sensory development for one can be supported and encouraged by all these different sounds, sites, smells, feelings, and, tastes.
